Being a nurse is no easy task. It’s demanding, overwhelming, exhausting, and heart breaking at times; yet I love what I do. Yes, there are aspects of my job I hate (changing people’s diapers, emptying commodes or an ostomy, working night shift and holidays) but the good definitely outweighs the bad. I like knowing I’m helping someone heal and hopefully brightening their day while they’re recovering. Sometimes I might be the only smiling face they see for eight hours so every time I enter a room I try to remember that.
There have been times where I’ve questioned why I went into nursing in the first place since it’s so hard to get a full time job and having to work 24/7 sucks but any time I hear a patient compliment me on a job well done or tell me how I’ve made them happy I remember why I really do love my job. I absolutely adore the floor I work on at the hospital. We work so well as a team and we’re all bonded by our love of this field.
In honour of Nurse’s Week, here are a few hilarious nursing meme’s I found online! Hope you enjoy! And if you’re a nurse I hope you have a very happy Nurse’s Week! You deserve it!
I would love to shake the hand of whoever made these because I swear this is exactly how I look in all these situations!!!
k I’m not a nurse but those meme’s are hilarious!! And that is so cool that you are a nurse!! I’m glad you have such a positive perspective on helping people and helping them be happy. I’ve met some nurses who clearly could care less about my grandpa (who is in the hospital) and aren’t all that nice to him/ visitors. I wish you were his nurse !!

They are hilarious right! I swear that is my face after every full moon night shift! No lie! And thank you! I’m sorry you had a bad experience with your grandpa! 😦 I definitely have my days where I’m beat and have had enough of the verbal and sometimes physical abuse but I always try to remember what kind of nurse I would want if I was in the hospital or what kind of nurse I’d want caring for my loved one and it makes me change my attitude. Nursing definitely is not for everyone! Thanks so much for reading and your sweet comment!
