My little sister Amanda graduated from Queen’s University last Wednesday and I couldn’t be more proud of her! She did four years of university at Trent U in Peterborough then did teachers college at Queen’s which is located in Kingston. I wasn’t able to go to her Trent University graduation last year because I was working night shift and was around 20-something weeks pregnant so needless to say, I was more than exhausted! I knew for sure I did not want to miss this graduation so once Amanda knew for sure she would have enough tickets (they were only allowing three each but she she scored a few more from friends) I made sure that Nate and I had no plans.
I was a little worried about driving there since Kingston is about two hours away and this would be my first outing with Nate that far away without Kurt but I was determined to make it. My step-dad drove myself, Nate, my mom, and aunt which was awesome because I would’ve panicked if I was driving that far alone. Nate slept the whole way there basically; only waking once or twice to look around then shutting his eyes again. Once we got there we met up with Amanda, my dad, and my step-mom. I’m so glad I brought Nate’s carrier because he would not have tolerated being in his stroller all day and he’s getting really heavy so it’s hard to just carry him around in my arms.
The pre-graduation pose! Amanda is wearing heels. Normally, she’s not THAT much taller than me!
Queen’s University is so pretty with all its old limestone and ivy growing everywhere. I wish I had taken more photos of the buildings!
For those of you who are Blue Rodeo fans, Jim Cuddy received a honourary doctorate of law so that was super cool to see him!

Auntie Mandy and Nate!
My mom, Amanda, Nate, and myself
My dad, Amanda, step-mom, and Nate
My step-dad, Amanda, my mom, and Nate
My aunt Kim and Amanda. For as long as I can remember, they’ve always been told how much they look alike!
Snapped by the school’s photographer! Little Nate was so proud of his auntie (just like his mom is!)
